German MPs arrive in city today

A six-member delegation of parliamentarians on the Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development of the German Parliament Bundestag arrives in the city today (Wednesday) on a four-day visit to Bangladesh, reports UNB.
The delegation, led by member of parliament (MP) Thilo Hoppe will hold talks on issues of Bangladesh-German development cooperation and the country's political situation before the upcoming general elections.
The delegation is set to meet the advisers for Foreign Affairs and Finance and Commerce, the Economic Relations Division Secretary and politicians of major political parties.
It will also meet donors of bilateral and multilateral development cooperation and members of non-government organisations (NGOs) and Human Rights' organisations in Dhaka.
On a two-day trip to NGO-projects and major projects of Bangladesh-German official cooperation, the delegation will be informed about challenges and achievements of the bilateral development cooperation, which has "successfully been implemented in a spirit of trust and mutual understanding by the two countries since 1972".
