Ghazal artiste Ainuddin killed in road crash

NATORE, June 18 (UNB): Two people, including renowned Ghazal artiste Ainuddin Al Azad, were killed in a road accident at Palidah in Lalpur Upazila Friday.
The police said Ainuddin, Director of Sur Kendra at Naya Paltan in Dhaka, was going to Rajshahi from Jhenidah in a private car to attend a function there. A bus rammed into his car on the Ishwardi-Lalpur road, killing car driver Aslam Sheikh on the spot and injuring the artiste.
Critically injured, Ainuddin was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he died at noon.
Meanwhile in Magura, a timber trader was hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants at Kali Shankapur village in Mohammadpur Upazila early Thursday.
The victim was identified as Munnu Mollah. The police said while Munnu was returning home from a local market riding a motorcycle late at night some miscreants intercepted him on way and at one stage stabbed him to death.
On information, the police rushed to the spot in the morning and sent the body to hospital morgue for autopsy.
