The Appellate Division has fixed December 2 to start hearing the appeal filed by war crimes convict Prof Ghulam Azam. The five-member Appellate Division led-by Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain fixed the date of hearing on Wednesday. On July 15 last year, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 sentenced Ghulam Azam, the former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, to 90 years imprisonment for wartime offences during Bangladesh’s independence struggles in 1971, according to a news agency.
