GIO opposes Caretaker system

Gonotantrik Islami Oikyojote (GIO) Tuesday termed caretaker government (CG) system illegal and expressed opinion that next national elections should be held under political government. The GIO expressed this view in the dialogue with President M Zillur Rahman at Bangabhaban in the city, reports BSS.
A 12-member delegation of GIO, led by its Chairman Advocate M Nurul Islam Khan, joined the dialogue with the President at 12.30 pm.
During the talks, the GIO leaders observed that the next polls should be held under political government as the last CG did irreparable loss to the country.
Bangladesh Khelafath Andolon (BKA) and Bangladesh Khelafath Mojlish (BKM) opined for restoration of CG (CG) system to make the next polls accepted to all.
A ten-member delegation of Bangladesh Khelafath Andolon, led by its Ameer Moulana Shah Ahmadullah Ashraf joined the dialogue with President M Zillur Rahman at 11.00am at Cabinet Hall of Bangabhaban.
He said they proposed probable three names to the President to choose the next Chief Election Commissioner. The names are -- former chief justice Mahmudul Amin Chowdhury and Mostafa Kamal Abbasi and Air Vice Marshal (retd) Jamal Uddin.
After BKA, a ten-member delegation of Bangladesh Khelafath Mojlish, led by its Ameer Principal Habibur Rahman took part in the dialogue and also demanded restoration of the caretaker government system.
