Girl abducted killing her mother

Miscreants abducted a girl after killing her mother in Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga district on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Tahmina Khatun, 45, wife of Abdul Kader, a resident of at Azimpur village. Witnesses said a gang of miscreants numbering 10/12 stormed the house of Abdul Kader and tried to abduct Joytsna Khatun, a 3rd year honours student of Chuadanga Government College around 8:00pm. When resisted, the miscreants stabbed Tahmina, mother of Joytsna, indiscriminately, leaving her critically injured. They also severed the tendons of Tahmina and picked up her onto a microbus and left the place. Later Tahmina died on way to hospital. Shikdar Mashiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Police Station, confirmed the incident. Mohamamd Kamruzzman, superintendent of police, Chuadanga, said a combing operation is being conducted to trace the girl and arrest the abductors, according to UNB.
