Girl kills self for HSC failure

A college student committed suicide for failing in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations in Boalmari Upazila in Fariudpur district on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Sonia Rahman Bhabna, 18, student of Kazi Sirajul Islam Girls College and daughter of Tabibur Rahmana Mintu, a resident of Government College Road area of Boalmari. Dr Farid Hossain Miah, upazila health and family planning officer, said, Bhabna committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan with scarf after 14 days of her result. The HSC results were published on August 13, according to UNB.
