Global Ins makes Sayeed Ahmed chairman, Shawket vice-chairman

The board of directors of Global Insurance Limited (GIL) in its recent board meeting unanimously re-elected Sayeed Ahmed as the chairman and Shawket Reza as the vice chairman of the company, according to a statement.
Sayeed Ahmed, a promising entrepreneur and industrialist, has achieved success in the business arena within a very short time. He is the chairman of Bangladesh Check Technology Limited and Purity Foods Limited, Managing Director of Vantage Securities Limited, City Homes Limited and Al Taiyer International Limited. He is the sponsor shareholder and former EC chairman of Padma Bank Limited.
He is also the proprietor of Ahmed Shipping lines, Ahmed Inland Shipping Agency, A K International and Ahmed Airways Services.
Mr Ahmed is the senior vice president and member of Executive Council and former general secretary of Bangladesh Cargo Vessel Owner' Association.
Sayeed Ahmed is the President of Lions Club of Dhaka Central East and Region Chairperson of Lions Club of International District 315 B-2, Bangladesh. He is a permanent member of Dhaka Club Ltd, Gulshan Society, Uttara Club Ltd., Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhanmondi Club Ltd., Bangladesh Flying Club Ltd., Chattogram Boat Club and All Community Club Ltd and vice president of Bangladesh Kho-Kho Federation and Rajdhani Shooting Club Ltd. He is the Patron of Shariatpur District Organisation and also associated with many social and service oriented organisations.
Shawket Reza completed M Com in Accounting. He has a diverse business profile and established himself as a prominent business personality. He is a prolific businessman in the fields of export, import and manufacturing of readymade garments (RMG) and textile products.
Mr Reza is the managing director of Reza Group. He is the sponsor director of Global Insurance Limited. He is one of the co-founders of Progati Balika Biddya Nikaton located at Sharasheya, Feni and Nurul Rownak Diabetics Centre, Rajnagor, Feni, an outdoor clinic for the diabetic patients managed by Feni Diabetic Association.
