GM Memorial South Asian Club TT begins

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 7 (UNB): The first ever six-team Advocate Golam Mostafa Memorial South Asian Club Table Tennis Championship began at the MA Aziz Stadium gymnasium here on Saturday.
The tournament is being jointly organised by Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation (BTTF) and Chattogram Zila Krira Sangstha (CJKS).
Chattogram City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin inaugurated the maiden South Asian TT meet in the port city in the morning at a function. It was presided over by chairperson of the meet sponsor Advocate Golam Mostafa Memorial Trust Fatema Begum.
Chairman of the Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council Major General (retd) Helal Morshed Khan, BB, was also present as guest of honour on the occasion. BTTF general secretary Khondakar Hasan Munir and general secretary of Chattogram Divisional Sports Association Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir were present as the special guests.
Six club teams, Palalick Group of Bangladesh, Bengal Group of India, Thimphu TT Club of Bhutan, Huawei TT Club of Nepal, Maldivian TT Club of Maldives and Southern TT Club of Sri Lanka were competing in the three-day round robin league basis meet.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation (BTTF) Khondakar Hasan Munir said, "We will fight for the championship and try our best to bring the good results."
