Golam Mostafa Lane KS beat Dhaka XI

Golam Mostafa Lane Kishore Sangha made a good start in the 2nd phase of the Metropolis Pioneer Football League beating Dhaka X1 Club by 1-0 goal in the opening match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Stadium at Kamalapur in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Shamim scored the match-winner in the 57th minute.
Earlier, Chief Executive of league sponsors Dhaka City Corporation Mohammad Alauddin inaugurated the second phase of the league in the afternoon.
BFF Vice President Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, former chairman of the metropolis league committee Abdur Rahim, BFF member and League coordinator Asfar-uz-Zaman Sohrab, Pioneer League Committee chairman Haji M Azizullah and secretary Wahid Murad Rupom were present.
Jatrabari Jhatika Sangha will meet Swadhinata Krira Sangha in the lone match Sunday at 4:30 pm at the same venue.
Twenty teams, split into four groups, are taking part in the second phase of the league.
Teams: Group A -- Golam Mustafa Lane Kishore Sangha, Swadhinata KS, Lalbagh Tarun Sangha, Jatrabari Jhatika Sangsad and Dhaka Eleven Club;
Group B -- Tangail Football Club, Arambagh KS Juniors, Mir Hajirbagh KC, Madrasapara SC and Noakhali Football Academy;
Group C -- Rampura KC, Maghbazar KC, Mansoor SC, Mugdapara Samaj Kalyan & Krira Sangsad and Surjosena SC;
Group D -- Tejgaon Nabataranga KSSS, Bangladesh SC, Nawabpur KC, BKSP and Mohammadpur Jubo SKS.
The four group champions will play in the semi-finals. The league champions and runners-up teams will earn the right to play in the Metropolis Third Division Football League from next season.
