Gold analysis
Wednesday, 18 June 2014
Enough hullabaloo is being made in the media in view of the fact that the gold content of the crests given to 'Friends of Bangladesh' who helped us during the war of liberation, was too low. Gold crests deserve renaming as brass crest or bronze crest. Normally purity of gold is based on fineness which means 999 fineness gold contain 999 parts pure gold in 1000 parts of gold.
However we are accustomed to the term carat gold and 24 carat gold is pure gold of 999 fineness out of 1000. Normally 22 carat gold used in our ornaments are in much demand while 16, 18, 20, 21 carat ornaments are also available.
Today in view of technological development gold ornaments are instantly analysed using sophisticated technology which are available in most of the reputed jewellery shops. The jewellery dealers instantly check the gold content in carat for the satisfaction of the customers and a digital configuration on paper show the gold content.
Under the above facts the appropriate authority may recheck the gold content of the prestigious crest given to notable persons supporting our liberation war. Let digital technology thrive in our daily life while the nation must be sorry for this type of ugly and undesirable incident.
