Gold bars seized at Shahjalal airport

Customs officials seized five gold bars weighing around 1 kg and detained a passenger at Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday. The detainee was identified as Sunny, 28. He hails from Munshiganj and resident of East Rampura area of the capital. Shahjalal airport sources said customs officials challenged Sunny at the green zone of the airport after he arrived here from Kuala Lumpur by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines around 7:30 am and recovered five gold bars from his possession. Customs officials also seized his passport, according to UNB.
