Gold bars seized at Sylhet airport

Customs officials recovered three gold bars and detained a passenger at MAG Osmani International Airport in Sylhet city on Saturday. The detainee was identified as Raju Mia, son of Kotu Mia of Islamabad village in Biswanath Upazila. Assistant commissioner of the airport customs Omar Mubin said ‘Flight 052’ of Bangladesh Biman from Dubai landed at the airport around 11:00am. Customs officials recovered the three gold bars weighting around 350 grams from the baggage of Raju, a passenger of the flight, and detained him. The market value of the seized gold is around Tk 1.2 million, according to a news agency.
