Gold, cash worth Tk 2.0m looted in Sylhet

SYLHET, Sept 5: Armed dacoits looted gold ornament and cash worth over Tk 2 million from 2 houses in the Sylhet city's Khasdobir area at early hours Saturday.
About 10 to 15 miscreants invaded the house of Haji Farid Mia at Bandhan B-17 at the Khasddobir area at about 4:00 Am. They entered into the house by breaking its grill and tied up the inmates at gunpoint, the house owner alleged. They looted 31 tolas of gold and Tk 1,70,000 from an almirah at the house. The wedding of the house owner's daughter was set for today.
Besides, the gang looted 8 tolas of gold and Tk 20,000 along with 8 smartphones from a neighbouring house, Bandhan F-11 of Mr. Enayetur Rahman.
