Gold haul at Shah Amanat Airport

An air passenger has been held along with ornaments and gold bars weighing over 4 kilograms (kg) at Hazrat Shah Amanat (R) International Airport in Chittagong 33 gold bars weighing almost 4kg airport. Customs Assistant Director Sushanta Paul of Hazrat Shah Amanat (R) Int’l Airport said the gold was seized from one Md Nurul Islam, 35, who came from Dubai by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight on Wednesday afternoon. The arrestee will be handed over to local police station. The ornaments and 33 gold bars weighing over 4kg will be deposited with the concerned authorities, the air customs officials said, according to a news agency.
