FE REPORT | Thursday, 11 June 2026

The price of 22-carat gold has fallen again by Tk 6,591 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price down to Tk 222,782.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said on Wednesday that the reduction was made in line with the decline in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market.
The association said that the new rates came into effect at 10:00 am on Wednesday.
A BAJUS leader told the FE that earlier on Wednesday morning, the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring held a meeting and decided on the revised rates.
The decision was later announced in a notice signed by Committee Chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.
Previously, the price of the highest-quality gold per bhori was reduced by Tk 3,266 on June 2, followed by a further cut of Tk 5,481 on June 6. As a result, the price has decreased by a total of Tk 15,339 in three rounds.
Under the latest revision, the price of 21-carat gold has been cut by Tk 6,298 to Tk 212,635 per bhori.
