The price of gold in the domestic market is likely to go up from Sunday following the upward trend in the international market, jewellers said.
The international gold market is showing an upward trend over the last 15 days and in the last three days it increased in a faster mode," Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BJS) general secretary Dewan Aminul Islam told the FE Friday.
He said, "The international market price of gold fluctuated from $1299.27 to $1319.15 an ounce till Friday evening in Bangladesh. It is around $60 higher than our last price fixation in December last year."
"So the final decision will come within a day or two after discussions with the jewellers," Mr Islam said.
Regarding the price, he said it is not possible to say about the price as they will fix on the meeting considering the international market price on that day.
