Gold seized at Satkhira

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel seized 60 tolas of gold from Khanjia border point under Kaliganj Upazila at Satkhira on Monday. Lieutenant Colonel Shamsul Kabir of Satkhira BGB Battalion-34, Satkhira, said on a tipp-off about a consignment of gold being trafficked to India through the Khanjia border, a BGB team conducted a drive there around 11am. Sensing the presence of the border guards, the smugglers escaped, leaving 60 tolas of gold worth about Tk 2.5 million, according to UNB.
