Gold seized at Shahjalal

Customs Intelligence officials seized 734 grams of gold from a passenger at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday night. Customs officials said  Farid Madbar, a passenger of a flight of Malaysian Airlines landed at the airport from Kuala Lampur around 10:00pm. When he was about to leave the airport through Green Channel of the customs lounge, the officials challenged him for his suspicious movement around 11:45pm. Searching his body, they recovered seven gold bars each weighing over 100 gram and several gold ornaments weighing about 34 gram from his possession, according to UNB.
