Gold worth Tk 22m seized at Shahjalal: 1 held

Customs Intelligence officials seized 4.2 kilogram (kg) gold worth Tk 22 million and arrested a person in this connection at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport on Thursday. The arrestee was identified as Khurshid Alam, a resident of Sitakunda Upazila of Chittagong district. Moinul Khan, Director General of Customs Intelligence, said Khurshid came here from Dubai by a flight of Fly Dubai around 11:40am. Being tipped off, a team of the intelligence officials challenged Khurshid when he was coming out of the airport through the green channel and recovered 4.2 kg gold from a water pump motor from his possession, according to UNB.
