Goldman Sachs wants to invest in BD mega projects

Goldman Sachs Group, one of the world's leading firms in investment banking, securities and investment management, wants to invest in Bangladesh's mega projects in the infrastructure sector. A three-member delegation of the New York-based Group at a high-level meeting at the finance ministry in Dhaka on Thursday conveyed the desire to the government and gave a brief about their plan. Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Finance Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Mashiur Rahman, Energy Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr Atiur Rahman, Finance Secretary Mahbub Ahmed and Economic Relations Division Secretary Mohammad Mesbahuddin attended the meeting. The Goldman Sachs' delegation included high officials Jonathan Donne, Ryad Yusuf and Paul S Rohdes who work at the Group's London and Hong Kong offices, according to a news agency.
