Celebrated Bangladeshi golfer Siddikur Rahman finished joint 7th with two other players in his favourite Hero Indian Open with an overall five-under- par 279 after the 4th and last round matches at the Delhi Golf Club Sunday, reports UNB.
Siddikur, the Asian Tour winners of 2010 Brunei Open and 2013 Hero Indian Open, finished with a dismal performance of five over-par 76 with one birdie and six bogeys in the 4th and final round on Sunday, according to Asian Tour.
The Bangladeshi professional golfer, who shared the top slot playing six-under-par 65 in the first round Thursday, went down to the 2nd slot scoring one-under- par 70 in the 3rd round to finish total
10-under-par 203 Saturday.
Famed Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri won his second title in three weeks after defeating compatriot SSP Chawrasia on the first play-off hole at the US$1.5 million Hero Indian Open Sunday.
The 27-year-old Lahiri, who was seven shots off the pace at the start of the day, fired a two-under-par 69 as overnight leader Chawrasia struggled in the blustery conditions to return with a disappointing 76 at the challenging Delhi Golf Club.
Both Lahiri and Chawrasia finished on seven-under-par 277 in regulation play and returned to the 18th hole where Lahiri birdied from inside 10-feet. Chawrasia's title hopes faded when his tee shot landed under thick branches.
The victory was Lahiri's seventh Asian Tour title and second European Tour win. Two weeks ago, he won the Maybank Malaysian Open which was also sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.
