Gono Front leaders have made a call to the people to be united against corruption.
At a discussion meeting Saturday in the city, they said the country needs a new leadership to root out social diseases like corruption, terrorism and extortion.
They said the country is reeling under corruption as majority of policy makers and leaders are involved in it.
"Since liberation, all the governments have talked about eliminating corruption but actually became great thieves," said Md Jakir Hossain, chairman of the GF.
He said the democracy which gives birth to corruption cannot bring welfare to the people.
Among others, Ahmed Ali Sheikh, secretary general of GF and Azizur Rahman, convener of Krishak Front, spoke in the meeting.
