Good bar-bench ties stressed to establish rule

KHULNA, Nov 4 (BSS): State Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Qamrul Islam has said good relations between the bar and the bench is essential to establish rule of law in the country.
He was speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of Khulna Bar Association building as chief guest.
Qamrul said the cooperation of lawyers was needed to remove backlog of cases in courts.
He said the government had already taken necessary steps for development of the lower courts.
The state minister said metropolitan sessions court and second women and children repression prevention court would be set up in Khulna soon. Besides, steps would be taken to resolve the residential problems of the judges.
He announced a donation of Tk 1.0 million for the multi-storey building of Khulna Bar Association.
