Good liquoring teas enjoy better demand
FE Report | Thursday, 17 July 2008
Demand was fairly strong for good liquoring well made teas, which sold well but were slightly easier following quality. However, plainer teas were generally in less demand and were easier often by Tk 5.00 and sometimes more. Blenders and Packeteers were active with fairly good support from the Loose tea buyers. Pakistan buyers were out-priced. Dusts sold well but at easier rates.
CTC LEAF: 21,236 packages and 194 packages of old season on offer met with a good demand but at easier rates.
Brokens: Well made good liquoring Brokens were a fairly strong market but eased slightly and these sold between Tk 132 and Tk 135 particularly for the smaller varieties. Others were also a good market and were easier by Tk 3.00 to Tk 4.00.
Fannings: Well made good liquoring Fannings were in quite a strong demand but were again easier sometimes by Tk 2.00 to Tk 3.00 and these could be quoted between Tk 133 and Tk 136. Other varieties decline by Tk 3.00 to Tk 4.00 following quality.
