Goodbye, Spain and Italy

There is no dearth of shocks and surprises for sport lovers during the ongoing FIFA World Cup football. Two super powers, Italy and defending champions Spain, have already made their exit from the first round. I had high hopes about both the teams, but they are now homebound. In the coming days there will be more surprises and heartbreaks. That is the beauty of football. A team like Italy is out of the fray. When they started their last match, they only needed a draw, but they could not manage that. In the second round the excitement will reach a new height.
The World Cup has changed our daily life. Now life starts, when the evening comes. The whole day the sport-loving people feel drowsy and when the night comes, they become perky and excited. At home, office, restaurant, school or college everyone everywhere is talking about the World Cup and none shies away from expressing his "expert" opinion. It is, indeed, enjoyable to talk with people and know their opinions. The World Cup has become a part of our everyday life. Indeed, sporting events help sink differences and unite the peoples.
