Goods worth Tk 0.5m gutted In Chittagong paper factory

CHITTAGONG, Nov 25 (bdnews24.com): A fire in the district capital's Khulshi area has gutted goods worth nearly Tk 0.5 million of a paper board manufacturing factory.
The fire broke out from an electrical short circuit at Chishtia Board Mill near Foy's Lake around 5am Wednesday, fire services sources revealed.
The service's Agrabad control room operator Mohammad Ismail told the news agency "Only paper and machineries were burnt in the fire. There were no reports of casualties. Two fire engines of the Agrabad unit brought the fire under control after a two-hour attempt."
Khulshi police sub-inspector Goljar Hossain, also a witness of the fire, told the news agency "I informed the fire service after seeing the fire. Even though the factory was closed, there were two workers sleeping in the factory."
Fire official Mohammed Ismail said that the total loss was initially estimated at Tk 0.5 million and that the firemen recovered goods worth around Tk 2 million.
