Google map for traffic

Thursday, 3 October 2019

More people living in the metropolitan areas of Dhaka and Chattogram are being habituated to using Google map for planning their trips within the city and its outskirts. It is quite a useful App, which has already been popular among city dwellers around the globe. It helps commuters to find out if there is any traffic congestion in areas they would cross and choose the routes that are relatively free to reach their destinations within a short time. This App features multiple colour spectra that help users understand traffic situation. It cannot change the situation but can at least bring some comfort to the commuters in terms of creating options of routes for avoiding congestion. However, there is another issue relating to Google map that needs to be addressed for the sake of both drivers and passengers. The Google map does not show some roads and lanes of Dhaka city and some roads and lanes are wrongly recorded as well.
For this particular problem, the users of ride-sharing App suffer most when the drivers of the vehicles cannot locate the area where the passenger concerned is staying or wants to go. We hope such issues will be addressed soon by the authorities concerned.
