Gopalganj trade fair draws huge visitors

GOPALGANJ, Nov 10: The month-long 'Trade and Commerce Fair 2008' at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Gopalganj town stirred enthusiasm among local people recently.
The fair began on October 25 and will continue until November 25. Gopalganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Gopalganj district administration jointly organised it with the assistance of event management organisation 'Network'.
Dr M Tamim, chief adviser's special assistant for Energy and Natural Resources Affairs, inaugurated the fair.
Deputy Commissioner SM Asfaque Hossain, Superintendent of Police Md Abdul Kuddus Amin and Pourashava Chairman Hasmat Ali Sikder Chunnu were present as special guests.
Different types of attractive local and foreign goods are available in the fair.
About 200 stalls have been set up in the fair. Circus, folk song oriented cultural function are held at every night. Thousands of male and female spectators from rural and urban areas visit the fair.
