Gov expands OMS of rice to div cities

The government Tuesday decided to introduce the Open Market Sale (OMS) of rice in six divisional headquarter of the country, reports BSS.
The Ministry of Food and Disaster Management at a high-level meeting took the decision that 25 tonnes of rice would be sold everyday by 25 dealers in each divisional headquarters, and the activities would also be introduced in newly declared Rangpur division soon.
Besides, decision was also taken that the number of trucks being used for distribution of rice would be increased to 100 to meet the increased demand for the staple.
