Government forming body to support SME entrepreneurs

The government will form a committee to provide loan facilities to the small and medium entrepreneurs (SME) for developing the sector at the district level.
The committee will supervise the loan facilities for all SME entrepreneurs, including women, reports BSS.
The decision was taken at a joint meeting among the ministries for industries, commerce and textile and jute on the occasion of the 'Deputy Commissioner (DC) Conference-2019' at the Cabinet Division in the capital, a press release said here.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun attended the meeting as the chief guest while Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Adviser to the Prime Minister for Private Industry and Investment Salman Fazlur Rahman and State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder attended the meeting as special guests.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam presided over the meeting where deputy commissioners from all 64 districts of the country participated.
In his speech, Industries Minister Humayun said, changing their colonial attitude, the field level administrations are playing a vital role for ensuring democratic values.
"We can accelerate our progresses if we work together," he said. "People of the country have already achieved positive result in this regard," he added.
He urged the DCs to implement the Vision 2021, Vision 2041, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Delta Plan 2100 as per the declaration of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
State Minister Kamal Mojumder suggested using modern technology and machinery while conducting mobile courts to indentify the harmful chemicals in vegetables and fruits.
"We will have to be aware about farmers and producers so that they can make profit," he said.
He instructed the DCs to take zero tolerance policy against adulteration of foods.
