Government will not disband RAB: Kamal

State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has brushed aside calls to disband beleaguered Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) following allegations that it was involved in the Narayanganj seven murders, according to a news agency.
The elite force has been facing harsh criticisms for a long time and blamed for committing extrajudicial killings in the form of crossfire.
“Disbanding RAB is out of the question,” Kamal declared.
“Those who committed crime were punished. Many also served time in jail,” he said  Wednesday while briefing journalists on administrative measures taken after the gruesome murders following abduction.
