Govt. acting like an illegal gun-holder: BNP

Saturday, 10 January 2015

Accusing the government of acting like an illegal gun-holder in running the country, BNP spokesman Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday reiterated his party's call to continue the blockade programme, reports UNB.
Addressing a press briefing at a Banani office, Rizvi also said the fall of this regime is only a matter of time.
"This regime is governing the country like an illegal gun- holder. No illegal government has the right to run the country in such style. We call upon the country's people to make our rail, road and waterways blockade a success," he said.
The BNP leader also urged the leaders and activists of the 20-party alliance to take to the streets spontaneously to turn the blockade a complete success. "We want to clearly state that this government must go, now, their fall is only a matter of time."
About the ruling party leaders' criticisms for carrying on the blockade programme during the Biswa Ijtema, Rizvi said, "The Biwa Ijtema has begun and our blockade is also on. It's nothing but trickery to talk about Islam by this government which erased the name of 'Allah' from the constitution which had been included by Ziaur Rahman."
The government has also kept a ruling party minister in jail with the hospitality like 'a son-in-law' who made derogatory comments about the holy Hajj and Tablig Jamaat.
He alleged that this government has left no conspiracy unused to weaken and devastate Khaleda Zia both physically and mentally.
The BNP spokesman slammed the government for arresting the party's vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhruy and condemned it.
He urged the government to immediately release Mobin after withdrawing all false cases filed against him.  Rzvi alleged that the government has resorted to filing of 'false' cases and repressive acts to brutally suppress the opposition and different opinions.
