Govt administrators for troubled pvrivate varsities

The government will appoint administrators in troubled private universities if they cannot resolve outstanding disputes on contentious issues like ownership, reports bdnews24.com.
The Education Ministry has even threatened to stop the academic activities of the universities if their problems were not resolved through negotiations.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, in which the irregularities of private universities was discussed Sunday.
Cases involving universities over Board of Trustees or issues over campus will soon be resolved in court.
The troubled universities are Darul Ihsan University, Prime University, Northern University, Southern University, Asian University of Bangladesh, BGC Trust University, Queens University, America Bangladesh University.
