Govt, AFD sign credit facility deal

Bangladesh government and Agence Francaise de Development (AFD) of France signed a credit facility agreement to implement the 'Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply Project' (Gandharbpur Water Treatment Plant) at ERD in the city recently, said a press release. AFD as the co-financer with Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide 47 million Euro for the project to produce 5.0 million litre water per day from the river Meghna from its 'Bishnandi' point of Araihajar Upazilla of Narayanganj.
Aude Flogny, regional director for South Asia of AFD and Abul Mansur Md Faiz Ullah, additional secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD), signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
