Govt announces JSC exam procedures

Examinees of unapproved educational institutions for Junior School Certificate (JSC) or equivalent examinations may take part at any approved school or madrasah in the area, reports, bdnews24.com.
An education ministry circular signed by education secretary Syed Ataur Rahman Tuesday made the announcement.
The circular makes JSC and equivalent examinations compulsory instead of the class eight finals and junior scholarship examinations.
The circular also directs heads of the unapproved institutes to contact the heads of approved institutes to conduct examinations.
The approved institutes are expected to communicate with the education board and subsequently take charge of the entire procedure of the unapproved institute's examination.
Every examinee will have to pay a fee of Tk 150 to appear at JSC or equivalent examination.
Examinees of unapproved institutions taking exams from the approved institutions, will have to pay an extra fee of Tk 50.
