FE REPORT | Thursday, 29 August 2024

The government would not allow reduction in fertiliser supply in any way, finance and commerce adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed said on Wednesday.

The adviser was briefing the mass media after the maiden meeting of the advisory council committee on government purchase at the Cabinet Division in the Bangladesh Secretariat.
The meeting endorsed proposals on the procurement of fertiliser and lentil.
"These (importables) have to be brought home as soon as possible because we won't allow any decline in fertiliser supply by any means. Lentil is very important among the essentials."
According to Cabinet Division officials, the meeting approved the procurement of 90,000 tonnes of fertiliser and 20,000 tonnes of lentil.
