Govt arbitrarily filing cases against people

Saturday, 12 April 2014

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday observed that the country has turned into a ‘jail’ under the current regime. “They (govt) are arbitrarily filing cases against people… attacking and harassing the common people,” he told a street rally at Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon. The rally was organised as part of the campaign for BNP-backed contestants of the upazila parishad election billed for April 16. Fakhrul also alleged that ruling Awami League leaders have failed to fulfil the pledges they earlier made to people. “They’ve done nothing for the common people,” he said, according to a news agency.
