Tuesday, 18 November 2008

The Commerce Ministry has imposed a ban on importing three Chinese brands of powdered milk 'Yashlee-1', 'Yashlee-2' and 'Sweet Baby' as the presence of harmful toxic melamine was found in the brands. The ministry has imposed the restriction under the Import and Export Control Law-1950, an official handout said here today. The government has taken the decision following detection of toxic melamine in the milk in lab tests abroad. — BSS
