Monday, 10 September 2007

FE Report
The government borrowed Tk 7.00 billion (700 crore) Sunday through auctions of treasury bills. It will result in withdrawal of Tk 7.00 billion from the market in the week.
The central bank conducted auctions of 28-day and 91-day bills on the day.
Bidders offered Tk 11.50 billion and Tk 2.832 billion against the 28-day and 91-day bills respectively.
The central bank, however, accepted Tk 5.00 billion and Tk 822 million against the 28-day and 91-day bills respectively.
Besides, Tk 1.178 billion were devolved to Primary Dealers for 91-day bills.
The ranges of the implicit yields against the accepted bills respectively were 7.25-7.29 per cent and 7.62 per cent per annum.
The net outflow of cash from the market is expected to increase pressure on liquidity, the fund managers said.
