Govt cancels certificates of 116 fake freedom fighters

State Minister for Public Administration Begum Ismat Ara Sadeque said Tuesday the government cancelled the certificates and gazettes of 116 fake freedom fighters, reports BSS.
"The work to identify fake freedom fighters is underway . . .  the National Security Intelligence (NSI) has already identified 116 fake certificates of freedom fighters and necessary action has already been taken in this regard," he told the House while replying to a tabled question of treasury bench member M Abdul Latif.
Referring to the fake freedom fighter's certificate, she said intelligence agencies including the NSI are working to identify fake freedom fighter's certificates and gazettes.
Ismat Ara said the government would take necessary steps to cancel fake certificates of freedom fighters following the recommendations of agencies of the intelligence.
