Govt declares Dec 29 public holiday

The government has announced December 29 public holiday to enable all to cast their votes in the national election. "The day has been declared holiday, so all officials and employees of government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices, organisations and enterprises, and government and non-government educational institutions can cast their votes," an official announcement said Wednesday. Besides, public holiday has also been announced for such institutions in Noakhali-1 constituency for Jan 12, the rescheduled date for holding the JS polls there.
