Govt distributes 12.3m textbooks in last 5 years

Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury Saturday said the government handed over 12.3 million textbooks to the students of different educational institutions of the country in the last five years, reports BSS.
"The present government successfully distributed the textbooks in different schools this year despite frequent hartal, blockade and vandalism by the opposition," he told this while speaking at the prize-giving ceremony of the annual sports and cultural function of Milestone School and College held at its campus in the city.
He mentioned that the incumbent government ensured a time-beffiting development in the country's education sector.
"So, we have to spread the light of education to all," he said urging all concerned to work unitedly for the betterment of the education sector.
Adviser to the institution retired Colonel Nurnnabi, vice-principal Lieutenant Col (retd) M Kamal Uddin Bhuiyan, administrative officer Md Masud Alam and student Sultana Jaman Tandra, among others, spoke on the occasion.
