Govt earns Tk 5.21b revenue from ship-breaking sector in last FY

The government earned some Tk 5.21 billion as revenue from the ship-breaking sector in the last fiscal year (FY), 2013-14, Finance Minister AMA Muhith informed Parliament on Thursday, reports UNB.
The government revenue from ship-breaking organisations was Tk 6.18 billion in 2012-13 FY, Tk 5.62 billion in FY-2011-12 and Tk 1.41 billion in FY-2010-11, the minister said, replying to a starred question from Didarul Alam (Chittagong-4).
