Govt earns Tk 5.21b revenue from shipbreaking sector in last fiscal

The government earned some Tk 5.21 billion as revenue from the ship-breaking sector in the last fiscal year (2013-14), Finance Minister AMA Muhith informed Parliament on Thursday. The government revenue from ship-breaking organisations was Tk 6.18 billion in 2012-13 fiscal, Tk 5.62 billion in 2011-12 and Tk 1.41 billion in 2010-11, he said, replying to a starred question from Didarul Alam (Chittagong-4), according to a news agency.
