Govt endeavours to pave ways for bright future for youths: PM

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina said that her government took initiatives to pave ways for a bright future for youths while they need to play a pioneering role for the socio-economic development of the country upholding the values of honesty, reports BSS.
"We want to pave ways for a bright future for the younger generation and youths of the country."
She said this Tuesday at the inauguration ceremony of the National Youth Day at Osmany Memorial Hall in the city.
The Youth Development Department organised the function.
State minister for Youth Ahad Ali Sarkar presided over the function while secretary of the ministry Mahbub Ahmed, director general of the Youth Development Department Fakhrul Islam and National Youth Award winners Nahid Sultana Tripty and Zakir Hossain were also present on the occasion.
The PM urged the youth to be honest and play the pioneering role in socio-economic uplift of the country.
Several countries, which won their independence in recent decades, progressed much ahead compared to Bangladesh while she attributed the underdevelopment to the past military rules, she added.
Hasina invited the youth to recover the lost development pace or expedite the development process using their talents saying that a nation, which had won its independence through armed struggle, could not lag behind.
