Govt finalises definition of Freedom Fighters

The Liberation War Affairs Ministry finalised Monday the definition of Freedom Fighters (FF). As per the new definition, those who were at least 15-year old on March 26, 1971 now they can apply for their freedom-fighter status. The new definition also recognised 'Biranganas', women tortured at the hands of the Pakistan army and their local collaborators, as freedom fighters. The decisions were taken at a meeting of the Jatiya Muktijoddha Council, held at its office at Magbazar in the city with Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in the chair, according to BSS.
