Govt further reduces prices of non-urea fertilisers

The government has further reduced the prices of non-urea fertilisers to encourage potato growers as well as boosting production in the coming Boro season. The new reduced prices of non-urea fertilisers will come into immediate effect with the publication of gazette notification, according to sources at the Agriculture Ministry. According to the decision, reduced price of Muriate of Potash (MP) will be Tk 15 per kg and Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) Tk 27 per kg at the farmers' level. The government decided to reduce the prices of non-urea fertilisers, for the third time to help farmers cut dependence on urea fertilisers. The latest reduction of prices of non-urea fertilisers will cost the government an additional Tk 6.2 billion during the current year. —UNB
