Govt gets one-week ultimatum to resolve power, water crises

Sunday, 26 April 2009

RAJSHAHI, Apr 25 (UNB): Rajshahi Protection Action Council (RPAC) Saturday threatened to wage a tougher movement if the government fails to resolve the city's power and water crises within a week.
The threat came from a meeting of RPAC held with its convener Jamaat Khan in the chair.
RPAC leaders demanded that a 120MW power plant be set up in Rajshahi to put an end to the city's nagging load-shedding and criticised the City Corporation for suddenly raising its water tariff.
