RAJSHAHI, July 24 (BSS): Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu on Friday said the government has attached the highest priority to the health and education sectors and will continue extending all-out support for the development of healthcare services across the country.
He made the remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of a three-day congenital heart disease screening and treatment programme for children aged between three and 18 at the Rajshahi National Heart Foundation as the chief guest.
The programme, held from July 22 to 24, was jointly organised by the Rajshahi National Heart Foundation, the Department of Pediatric Cardiology of China's Fuwai Yunnan Cardiovascular Hospital, and the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Hospital (NICVD), Dhaka.
Highlighting Bangladesh-China relations, the minister said the historic friendship between the two countries was initiated by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and has reached a new height following Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's recent visit to China.
Referring to infrastructure development, Minu announced that a special project would be undertaken to widen the road linking the Court-Natore Road with the Rajshahi National Heart Foundation.
