Govt has forgotten its duties: Moudud

Barrister Moudud Ahmed MP Monday said, providing commodities at fair price to people and maintaining the peace in the country should be the main duty of a government.
He added the present government has forgotten about its main duties and instead has been arresting opposition party members and leaders and by doing so violating human rights.
Moudud made the comments to reporters after a roundtable organized by Nagorik Forum at the National Press Club.
BNP standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy also addressed the meeting.
Senior joint secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, chairman of Nagorik Forum Abdullahil Masud, renowned journalist Ruhul Amin Gazi, advocate Khondokar Mahbub Hosen and others attended the meeting.
